Using Microsoft Excel 2010/2013 students will:
- Complete MS Excel Introduction or Intermediate Course
- 8 hours instruction or supported practice
- Basic Business Accounting Course:
- 12 hours instruction and 4 hours supported practice to Create a Business Portfolio with:
- 2 Professional Worksheet projects in Sales and Accounting
- 2 Personal Worksheet projects in Money Management and Time Keeping
Business Accounting Instructional Topics Include:
Introduction to Accounting principles, simple accounting and financial calculations (commissions, discounts, interest, taxes).
Student INDEPENDENT Participation: 18-54 hours
Based on their prior education and experience, students should expect to spend an additional 1-3 hours for each hour of instruction to complete independent projects to send to instructors for feedback.

- 3 resumes suitable for email, online or “in person” submission
- 2 customizable cover letters for resumes
- 5 Business Letters, 3 Memos and 2 Reports
Business Communication Instructional Topics Include:
Grammar Mechanics Review, Composing/revising business correspondence (letters, memos, email), Conveying positive/negative information professionally. Further customization to suit student needs is available.
